MARRIAGE:

LAKE - PIDGEON - April 13, at the Bible Christian Church, Barnstaple, by the Rev. W.H. Gregory, John Lake, eldest son of William Lake, of Boutport Street, to Katherine C.Pidgeon, third daughter of C.Pidgeon, of Stratford, Essex.

        At the Thorne Memorial Bible Christian Chapel, Barnstaple, on Easter Monday, the wedding took place of Mr. John Lake, eldest son of Mr. William Lake, Boutport Street, Barnstaple to Miss Katherine Pidgeon, of Stratford, Essex.

        The Rev. W.H.Gregory officiated.  Mr. B.Vanstone acted as best man, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Herbert J.Pidgeon.  The bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Pidgeon (sister of the bride) and Miss Florrie Lake (sister of the bridegroom).  Breakfast was afterwards partaken at the house of the bridegroom's parents. Later in the day the happy pair left for Bideford. The presents were numerous and valuable, and included the following:  silver teapot and rug, Mr. & Mrs. Lake; dinner service, Mrs. Pidgeon; silver breakfast cruet, Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Pidgeon; set of carvers and steel, Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Pidgeon; clock, Mr. W.Lake junr; trinket set, Miss E.Pidgeon; armchair and table, Misses E. & A. Lake; table glass, Miss M. Pidgeon; silver pickle fork, jam spoon and butter knife, Miss J.Pidgeon; pair of salt cellars, Mr. H.Croker; silver jam dish, Mr. B.Bailey; table centre, Mrs. Alder; sugar bowl, trinket box and cheque, "An old friend", lamp, Mrs. Vanstone; teapot and tray, Mr. & Mrs. Smith; teapot, Mr. Sanguine; silver-mounted cream dish and spoon, Bideford Bible Christian M.B.,; table cloth, Mr. Clements; Turkey table cover, Mrs. Larkman; counterpane, Miss Larkman; waiter, Mr. & Mrs. Jewell; silver spoons, Misses L. & P.Rodd; photo and frame, Rev. S.G. Jenkins; cheese dish, sugar basin, milk jug, silver sugar tongs, Mr. & Mrs. Stephenson.
