Ann Pidgeon (born at Cullompton, Devon) and William Honey Cann were married at Topsham, near Exeter in 1869 before emigrating to the USA. After spending a year in New York City, the couple settled in Pennsylvania, first at Meadville and finally ay Oil City. Ann's brothers William and "George" Pidgeon followed her to the USA in 1872. They were both followed a year later by their wives and children. After setting initially at Meadville, PA they both moved to Rochester, New York, working in the shoe making business.
