PIDGEONs of Liverpool & Birkenhead, Cheshire

James Pidgeon came from King's County (now County Offaly), Ireland about 1836 or ‘37 with his wife Ellen and daughter Julia Maria. They settled in Liverpool, Lancashire, but Ellen died in 1854. After remarrying, James and his family moved south across the River Mersey, in about 1860, to settle in Birkenhead, Cheshire. James fathered seven daughters, so the Pidgeon name has died out.
