PIDGEONs of Broadclyst, Devon

Samuel Pidgeon was the son of Daniel Pidgeon and Ancilla Bampfield (see the PIDGEONS of BRANSCOMBE & SIDBURY family tree). Daniel was born at Branscome in 1792 and apprenticed to Robert Spiller at the age of 10. In 1818 he married Sarah Farley at Broadhembury, and they went to live at Woodbury. In 1823, however, the family was forced, by a removal order, to move from Woodbury to Broadclyst, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
