PIDGEONs of Dalwood, Devon

William Pidgeon married Susanna Baker in 1740 at Stockland, Dorset (Stockland was transferred to Devon in 1844). William probably came from nearby Cotleigh, but no baptism can be found at the appropriate time. Fifteen children were born to them, most being baptised at Dalwood, where they lived.

One of their sons (Emanuel) moved to Payhembury, Devon. It is possible that two other sons moved to Ilchester, Somerset (Nathaniel) and Kenton, Devon (Jasper) where they were married, and a daughter (Hannah) may also have been married at Kenton. Unfortunately, no evidence can be found to confirm these suggestions.
