PIDGEONs of Kilmington & Bridport – Poplar branch

John Pidgeon was the son of James Pidgeon and Sarah Budden (see the Pidgeons of Kilmington & Bridport family tree). He was born at Bridport, married Mary Ann Guppy there, and all their children were born there (except one born at Southampton). Sometime in the 1870s the whole family, including the elder children who were already married, moved to east London and settled on the Isle of Dogs, Poplar.

Their second son Frederick George was the first in a line of five Frederick Georges who I have numbered I, II, III, IV and V. Their youngest sons Charles and George were twins, both given their mother’s maiden name, so I call them the Guppy twins. They both had large families, as did most of their sons.
