PIDGEONs of Marlborough, Wiltshire

James Pidgeon and Lucy Hallaway were married at Swindon in 1835, and they settled 6 miles south at Marlborough. James was born at Thorncombe, Devon and so was probably James Brown Pidgeon, the baseborn son of Hannah Pidgeon of Cotleigh (daughter of William Pidgeon and Betty Lippincott). (See the Pidgeons of Cotleigh family tree.)

Their son William emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1868 with his wife and three daughters. In 1881, they were back in England with two more children born in Canada, but they returned to Canada, this time settling in Vancouver, British Columbia.
