PIDGEONs of Thorncombe – Hawkchurch (William) branch

William PIDGEON was born at Thorncombe about 1798. His baptism hasn't been found, and his parents are unknown. It is possible that they were either Richard Pidgeon & Sarah Green, or Joseph Pidgeon & Susannah Kitch – see the Pidgeons of Yarcombe & Thorncombe family tree. Both families lived at Yarcombe and returned to Thorncombe. I have assumed that his parents were Joseph & Susannah, since their son James also moved to Hawkchurch – it is quite likely that two brothers settled in the same village.

William married Elizabeth Newbury of Hawkchurch and settled there. At least two of their children, John and Marina, moved to Alderney in the Channel Islands. John married Elizabeth Bishop, probably on Alderney about 1848, and all their children were born there. In 1872 John, Elizabeth and family emigrated to America, and settled at Constantine in the State of Michigan, USA.
