These are just two of many Pigeon families living in north Norfolk in the 16th century, which may be descended from the PIDGEONs of East Beckham
Wiveton and Bale are two villages situated just a few miles west of East Beckham. At Wiveton, Richard Pigeon
was the father of several children baptised there in the 1560s, and at Bale, Thomas Pigeon
was the father of children baptised there in the 1570s. Thomas married Elizabeth Horsman
at Aldborough (about 4 miles south of East Beckham) in 1569. Quite possibly, both Richard and Thomas came from East Beckham.
